What is Nano arthroscopy?
Nano arthroscopy refers to the use of small-bore arthroscopic visualization systems. The camera is much smaller than a conventional arthroscope and may be useful in selected office-based or operating-room settings.
Potential advantages
Depending on the situation, smaller instrumentation may reduce the size of access portals and provide a direct view of joint structures. It does not replace standard arthroscopy or advanced imaging in every case.
When is it used?
Use depends on the joint, diagnosis, procedural goals, equipment and surgeon judgment. Some patients may still be better served by conventional arthroscopy, MRI or other approaches.
