Training and approach
Dr. Wallace’s sports medicine fellowship training informs an approach that starts with the patient’s activity goals and uses the diagnosis, examination and imaging to determine the most appropriate treatment pathway.
His practice has a particular focus on shoulder problems, including rotator cuff disease, instability, arthritis and shoulder replacement. He also treats selected knee and elbow conditions and sports-related injuries.
Care built around options
Not every orthopedic problem needs surgery. Evaluation may lead to rehabilitation, activity modification, medication, injection therapy or an orthobiologic strategy. When surgery is appropriate, Dr. Wallace emphasizes careful planning, minimally invasive techniques when applicable and a clear discussion of expected recovery.
Technology and education
Modern visualization, planning tools and advanced surgical instrumentation can be useful when they improve precision or patient care. Dr. Wallace has also participated in orthopedic education and technology development activities.
